My Wish for You during the Holidays

Well it's finally here! This special day that most of us have worked toward for literally weeks is tomorrow. What ever we have done... and how ever we have done it, the gifts are (mostly) bought, the packages and cards (mostly) sent. The house is (about) as clean as it's going to get (and if the tree is only 1/2 decorated--- well, it will just have to do). The menus are planned, the food is in the pantry and the fridge (except for the one last-minute item that the market was out of and our next-door neighbor promised to bring over later this morning from her larder).
My wish for each of you, dear friends, is this... May you have Time. Time to sit quietly with a child or grandchild and listen for Santa. Time to laugh with a dear friend or family member over some silly little memory that you both thought the other had forgotten. Time to turn on the Christmas music that you have loved for your whole life and play it while you watch the fire die down to glowing embers in the fireplace. But most of all...TIME to remember that it is Christ's birth that is our reason for all the weeks of planning and doing and preparing and being. He is "the Light in The Star", "the Pure Joy in the carol", "the Blessing of all those we Love in this world" and "The Promise of Life to come".
